Field Trips & Safety Tips

It is easy for children (and adults!) to get caught up in the excitement of being outside, and sometimes even the most cautious children can show a whole new side to themselves. That's why it is important to create and review instructions with them before exploring outdoors.

If you are not an experienced "outdoors-person," that's okay. You can get started on the lifelong journey to becoming one now. If you are an outdoor enthusiast already, you may not conciously focus on some of the basics that you will want to share with others (such as always returning pieces of the natural world such as rocks or sticks to the original place where they were found). In either case, we think this list of tips for trips can be useful.
